Wedding Wear Guide

We don't really have wedding seasons here in Mauritius. Our tropical climate makes it perfect to  have weddings all year round.I don't know about you but I'm always excited when it comes to weddings, you get to glam up and take pictures and all the sassy stuff. It just changes from the daily routines.I thought I'd to share with you the do's and don'ts of what to wear to a wedding as a guest which sometimes is a bit confusing.

  • Don't try to steal the show.
A wedding is a very special day for the married couple, they'd want everything to be perfect. You don't want to ruin their day by being the centre of attention.Wearing white is okay as long as you're not competing with the bride! If you're wearing white go for the simple fluid dresses and touch up with accessories of your choice.

  • Themed wedding party.
Announcing a dress code in the wedding card makes everything more fun right?!You get more excited for the reception, but it can be very tricky when it comes to choosing your outfit. You're afraid to be too elegant or not enough dressed up?Well, avoid dresses that are too showing off, keep it simple and classy. You can totally enrich any look with accessories.

  • Beach Wedding
It is obvious that anything related to the sandy beaches makes us want to relax. Flowy dresses and light colors are key if you want to slay a beach wedding party. When it comes to the shoes keep them comfortable but still wedding-appropriate.Nobody wants their heels to get stuck into the sand instead wear platform heels that would still look classy but allow you to move around quite easily.

  • Men's wear
Men dressing up is much more easier than women ...that's obvious. It all depends on the formality of the event.A tie or a bow is always a good idea to spice up the look ! Remember you don't need to wear pricey clothes or shoes,it's all about styling.Adding a watch is also a great way to warm up your outfit. If it's a beach wedding party you can totally add sunglasses for a more casual look.

"What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language." Miuccia Prada
Have a nice weekend people!
